Marshall Projects has been contracted to deliver an upgrade to the Paihia Wastewater Treatment Plant using Bio-Shell™ bioreactors technology. The project is designed to remove up to 120 kg/day of ammonia using 552 Bio-Shell™ bioreactors units installed into an existing oxidation pond at the Paihia site. The Bio-Shells™ bioreactors are being fabricated locally and the oxidation pond will remain in service during Bio-Shell™ bioreactors installation.
When completed, the Paihia WWTP will be the largest Bio-Shell™ bioreactors installation in the world.
The project is due for completion in May 2020.
